we knew. and suddenly sars comes along lt it gives an enormous shock the kids we think it's influential, it's not influential. it took about three months to forget what it was. it turned out in the end what it was was a virus that came out of bats. it went into the himalayan so the cats a little animal in southern china. comes out in force to areas. and it has infected humans in those live animal markets and it was the chinese new year and spread very quickly. it spread to hong kong, spread to singapore and toronto. they were the main areas infected in east asia, the only area affected out of asia was actually toronto. and it killed about 800 people. normally in the united states, 25 to 40,000 people die every year of influenza. this guilt 800 people in total

because it was a new infection and it was not identified initially and people were dying horribly and particularly people and hospitals were dying by the medical personnel were dying. there was a great deal of fear. in the end it cost about $50 billion in economic loss due to people not traveling, not using hotels and people not buying stuff. so it was a major economic problem and that's really what alerted the world to the fact that respiratory infections, or reminded the world the fact that respiratory infections can be extremely dangerous. that really convinced to various governments we have to take it graciously. it also convinced the people in real power it's not just the poor who get impacted. even they could be infected so they're willing to spend money on this. that was one of the reasons why the h. 15 151 was take assessors for. the contagion of course we have exactly the same situation.

unrealistic like killing hundreds, thousands of people are dying and dying horribly in very quickly, and about three people are working on the problem.
